Wyclef and Timberland Yele Project

I was told a while ago and was shocked at the deforestation that is going on in Haiti.  It is not new that it is happening in South America and in the Amazon however when it hits home it is always a different story and you tend to research it more.  Because of the economy and the energy shortage it is easy to turn to logging to try and resolve the issue but it causes several different issues for people.  Since Haiti is one of the many places to be bombarded with hurricanes come summer the lack of trees causes landslides and cover for the terrible weather.  This has killed thousands of people recently.  So a question to ask is, are those lives worth the energy we gain?

I would like to thank Wyclef for doing such a great thing for his country.  Not only do you get boots but also a CD.
